Our Talent
The RJ Miller Salon & Spa staff is a team of highly skilled stylists-colorists, nail technicians, estheticians, and massage therapists who are professionally trained and experienced. As the needs of our clients evolve, our staff continues to seek out the newest techniques and products to fulfill these needs.
Nellie O’Gara
I have owned the salon since May 2003. During that time, I have come to appreciate that the combination of talent and skills of our staff and the dedication of our management team really drive the experience that our customers have when they visit RJ Miller. We are so fortunate that our professionals are highly trained and focused on keeping up to date on their skills and fresh ways to improve the quality of our business services.
We are also blessed to have Lindsay Walsh heading up the management of the salon. Her attention to detail, innate management skills and focus on customer service are all additions to her incredibly accomplished stylist skills. It’s great to have a stylist running the business as she can relate so well to the staff and to the customers at a level that helps drive excellence.
Robert Miller
Robert has been in the business for 54 years. After studying at the Jar-Dan Academy in New Jersey and at Vidal Sassoon London, he went on to own salons in New Jersey and Nantucket. He first opened RJ Miller Salon in 1975 and it has been a staple on the island ever since.
Robert has attended many lectures and seminars for Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Goldwell (USA and London), Roux Color, and Redken. As a master colorist, hair color is his passion and he loves to solve hair color problems. Meeting great people and making them happy is why he loves to be in this business.
Lindsay Walsh
Lindsay came to the island in 2006 and started at RJ Miller as an assistant as well as a stylist. Over the next few years she took on more roles at the salon while still maintaining and building her clientele. A certified Goldwell colorist, she has attended many color workshops as well as multiple Oribe cutting classes and is also certified in the Keratin Smoothing Treatments and Platinum Seamless Hair Extensions. Lindsay is very passionate about her Bridal Hairstyling and her attention to detail has made all of her upstyle creations flawless and beautiful. She also loves to do editorial work and has had lots of fun over the years working with Holly Finigan at the Nantucket blACKbook as a stylist for numerous photo shoots.
In 2011, she became the salon’s manager. Lindsay loves how this role enables her to have a more personal relationship with each client. As with her upstyling, her attentiveness and consideration to detail allows her to smoothly manage a very energetic salon.
Jo Duce
Jo has been in the Hair Business for 29 years and has worked with RJ Miller for 21. She has studied at Prive LA, with Beth Minardi at Redken NY and is trained in Goldwell, L’Oreal, and Redken color services. She is also certified in the Keratin Complex Smoothing Treatment as well as the Chi Japanese Straightening. One of her specialties is Highlights but she enjoys the diversity that is involved with being a hairstylist.
Jo’s passion for what she does exudes through every service she performs. Her clients are extremely faithful and enjoy each and every experience they have with her9
Sharon Ruddy
Sharon has been in the hair business since the 90’s after completing her city and guilds in Ireland. She has received extensive training in color and cuts with Toni & Guy London, Redken NY, and Vidal Sassoon Miami. She has also attended many seminars and workshops hosted by Oribe and Goldwell.
Sharon has been working at RJ Miller since 2001 and is a very well respected and talented senior stylist. She is very dedicated to her education and her clients are always coming back to find out what new techniques she has learned.
Michelle Ouellette
A talented colorist and stylist for 15 years, with a passion for learning, Michelle dedicates herself to staying up to date with current hair color trends and techniques. From Balayage to Ecaille (Sombre) hair color and everything in between, it’s not unusual to find her with a paintbrush in hand working her magic.
She excels at corrective color and knows just what to do to turn someone else’s disaster into her masterpiece. As a certified Keratin Complex stylist, she can take the unruliest of hair and transform it into silky smooth perfection.
Michelle’s process for each of her clients is specific and tailored to meet both their personalities and lifestyles, while also enhancing and complementing their features. Devoted to her craft, Michelle continuously upholds her commitment to ensuring all her clients leave feeling beautiful and confident.
Kate Norris
Colorist/Stylist/Makeup Artist
Kate has been a stylist and makeup artist for 6 years now after attending the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy. Early in her career she worked as an assistant to Zak Moscolo from Toni & Guy where she learned many of her skills.
She is certified in Hairtreats Hair Extensions as well as Platinum Seamless Hair Extensions, which we offer at the salon. Kate is also certified in the Keratin Smoothing Treatments and the Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Treatment. Always eager to further her education, Kate has attended color classes by Redken, TiGi, and Goldwell as well as cutting classes by Toni & Guy.
Kate is also a very talented makeup artist and has been trained in Bridal and everyday makeup by Jane Iredale. The excitement and joy she finds in making people look and feel beautiful is only one of the many reasons that she is such a wonderful addition to the RJ Miller team.
Branka Jaric
Branka is a colorist, stylist, and makeup specialist with over 10 years of experience. She was academically trained in Europe and the USA. Growing up in the family salon she is trained in all areas of the beauty industry and constantly adds to her repertoire by keeping track of the latest trends. Hair health and beauty are the principles by which Branka selects the color and style for each of her clients.
She enjoys creating beautiful dimensional color with her multiple hair painting techniques (Balayage, Sunlights, Foliage etc.), as well as cutting and styling. She was recently trained in permanent wave and texture service called American Wave , which is a special technique created by Nick Arojjo . She is educated in L’Oreal , Redken, Goldwell, Wella and many more product lines.
Branka now maintains clients between Palm Beach, FL in the winter and Nantucket, MA for summer. She has also had the opportunity to work on many photo shoots, special events, and celebrities, as she is always up to meeting many new people and taking on new experiences. She always preforms to the highest standard. Branka is a happy person, loves to laugh and loves making people laugh too!

Karla Tejada Lemus
Colorist/Stylist/Makeup Artist
Karla has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2016 and has since grown into a terrific and talented stylist specializing in Men’s Haircuts and Balayage and Highlighting Color services. She has been educated through multiple Goldwell color classes as well as a Vidal Sassoon cutting class and a Lock & Loaded Men’s Fusion Cutting Class. Karla recently completed the John Sahag Dry Haircutting workshop in New York City.
Karla has also trained at the Makeup Academy and provides beautiful and flawless makeup applications to our brides and bridesmaids!
Katie Nielsen
Tanisha Francis
Tanisha comes to us from Jamaica and has worked at RJ Miller as a Nail Tech since 2003 and as a makeup artist since 2014. She is licensed to work in Massachusetts, Florida, and Jamaica. Tanisha has taken special classes in Natural Nail Care, Gel Nails, and is certified in LCN (Light Concept Nails). Her specialties include nail repairs, long lasting polish application, and nail art for kids as well as Special Effects makeup and eye defining makeup.
She LOVES doing makeup but her favorite service to give would definitely be pedicures, as she is known for her “magic hands!” One of the best things about Tanisha is her passion and love for what she does. You will always leave her chair satisfied and will look forward to the next time you come back. As she likes to say, “If I can’t give it my 100%, might as well not do it at all!”
Amy Stamm
Amy’s interest in hairdressing started while interning at a salon during high school for the school-to-career program. She then went to the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy and has been a stylist for 6 years. Since then, Amy has attended multiple classes and workshops in Redken and Goldwell color as well as cutting and styling.
Although she is a licensed stylist, Amy has worked at RJ Miller for 9 years as our “Head Assistant.” Her vast knowledge of hair styling and color techniques combined with a great work ethic make her a valued member of the RJ Miller family.
Our Policies
Payment
We accept forms of payment in Cash, Check, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Debit Cards, and RJ Miller Gift Card. If you would like to leave a gratuity for services you have received, please do so in cash or check form. Gratuities added onto a credit card transaction are not accepted.
Cancellations
A minimum of 24 hours advance notice is appropriate for all cancellations or schedule changes. Clients will be billed 50% of the cost of their services for scheduled appointments that are missed and not cancelled with the appropriate notice.
Redo’s
We want all of our clients to leave happy, but if you are not satisfied with your service and would like a redo, please contact us within 7 days of your original service date. Redo’s must be done within a 7 day period.
